Who is Mic-Key Brockovich? Usually unnerved by surroundings, an emcee who narrates his story in a fury of prolific linguistics that slowly reveals itself as a fiendishly layered construction of both Truth and illusion. The universal human condition is the focus as the ideal of grassroots hip-hop is the medium of expression. With echoes of Beckett, Poe, and Paul Bowles, Mic-Key Boston is a tale of horror and madness, storytelling and skepticism, an emcee whose dizzying style lays bare the deepest layers of subconscious spirituality. Simply put, that Hard Body Original Boombap in a lost Golden Era.
Grounded and back down to Earth…
Mickey Boston Kovaks (Big Brosky) is an underground hip-hop artist, activist and photographer based in Montreal. He is one-third of the hip-hop ensemble, JOURNEYMEN, comprised of himself and fellow Queens emcee, Melo Malo Paulino and producer John Wholetrain. He is currently working alongside his personal producer, XEptional, in which his current projects focus on Human Rights and Civil liberties while also undertaking other projects concerning apartheid within the occupied territories. Moreover, his endeavors specifically delve into Indigenous struggles for land, freedom, dignity and self-determination, hearing directly from the voices and experiences of Indigenous activists like himself.

Released March 26th 2013, Journeymen’s “Pledge of the Respirator” EP provides hiphop fiends an original boombap survey that was delivered by the consistent narratives of Mickey Boston Kovaks, John Wholetrain and Melo Malo Paulino.

Highly anticipated album, “Enter the 36 Tentacles”, by Mickey Boston and Regimental Oneton is a journey through the tentacles of a hiphop that is a grimy must for every boombap fiend.

Those things don’t happen today. I feel sorry for the kids in the industry today. They have on sunglasses, eat caviar in jet planes, but they’ll never know the true feeling that we did.

Wisdom is found in knowing the truth, understanding absolute values, and knowing how to apply these values to one’s life. At the beginning, the individual needs facts and information, but later in life, he can weave these facts into a broader set of knowledge. Knowledge is worthless unless it is used to find and apply in life what is good. In the search for wisdom, the individual must avoid becoming a pedant, studying the insignificant, or retiring from the world to become a scholar. Wisdom consists of knowing how to apply the good to life.
